1999 s40 turbo manual immobiliser issue
hi guys, have a problem with my volvo 1999 s40 turbo not starting, thought it was the starter motor, however, after towing to a mechanic have been told it is the immobiliser that is playing up. have tried the 5 turns lock/unlock and resetting the battery but no luck. have been told I need to tow to a Volvo dealer and they can reset the car but this will cost a huge amount of money, towing and mechanic fees, I believe they are just trying to rip us off personally.
any suggestions on why the immobiliser is no longer working? and what I can do to fix it myself? , just replaced the battery last week but that is the only thing that has changed.
the car dash lights all light up and the car tries to start but wont crank over..
any help would be appreciated.
