Hey guys I am currently re building a 1999 s40 engine . it currently has bent valves from timing belt not being done properly (not by me).
Just wondering what else i can do to the engine to give it a bit more go.
I've got new rods,new valves, made a new intake and exhaust manifold, bigger turbo and i'm putting an ecu in that i can tune.
Also getting work done to the head.
if there is anything else you can recommend for better performance or to make it more economic that'd be great.

I think you are already 99% more experienced than the rest of us. Maybe post some pictures?

 

+1. About the only thing I'd add to the list is to look for a larger downpipe from the turbo to the cat. the easier it is to get the air out of the turbo, the faster it can spool up... Does the 99 model have the VVT set up like on the 00s to 04s? not sure if you can add one without a wiring harness and other changes.
