2000 S40 - Cam Sensor - Seafoam

I have the cam sensor advanced and retard - I have replaced the sensor.

Is it worth a run of seaform through the engine to see if I have too much crud in the engine (145,000 miles on the engine)?

Recommendations?

It can't hurt although from what I've read it won't help either. An old mechanics trick is to run a pint of automatic transmission fluid in with the engine oil. Thins it out and has cleaning properties. You only run it that way for a day or two then change the oil and filter.

Odds are you will need either a new CVVT solenoid or CVVT gear. My guess.

Yep, its never the sensor. The generic trouble code says cam sensor so the guys at Autozone doing the free scan recommend the sensor though.
