Ok my flex pipe on the exhaust has finally rusted. My girlfriends step dad said he could weld a piece in just curious as to what is the diameter of the pipe i need to get to match it up to the exhaust.

Car is a 2001 S40 1.9T

Thanks for your help. Girlfriend has been on my case about this cause of it being so loud and now my parents are on my case about it. So thanks in advance for your help.

 

The flex pipe is the smallest in diameter on the system if I remember correctly it goes down to 1.75" and its oval.I would just go to a shop and let them replace the pipe.They have a good variety of flex pipes and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg.Have them install bigger than the OEM as I said that pipe was choking the engine
