Hi everyone. I just got a used 2002 S40, and I want to replace the stock cd/tape player deck that came with it. I found a couple 2 DIN decks online. Some sites allow you to pick the make & model of your vehicle to make searching easier. Well every site I've come across says that there aren't any decks that'll fit my car, or I'd have to make some modifications before installation.

So I'm curious if anyone had gone through what I'm going through. If so, what kind of deck did you end up getting? Was it a 2 or 1 DIN? What were the dimensions W x H x D? And what kind of voltage output/input should I be looking out for?

Any help would be appreciated.

 

go to your local audio place, you'll just have to buy a universal kit that will modify the installation so that it fits correctly, a lot of searches will yield these results, that doesnt mean the radio your picking isnt compatible, it just means you need a kit to fill in the gaps when installing....

 

So are you saying that if I got a kit it'd make it so I could fit a 1 DIN system or that I'd need a kit to fit a 2 DIN?
