I don't know a thing about cars.. last week I took my car in and had a #4 coil (ignition) pack replaced bc my car was misfiring. Now, my car will start but acts like it wants to quit. This happens when I am idle. When I am driving it seems to get stuck in first gear (I have an auto) and then will go fast, slow, fast, all when I have the same pressure on my gas pedal. I am taking it in this week, but was wondering what it might be..and how much. Any help would be great. I hope it is not the transmission or I might flip!

sounds like throttle/idle control issues...and cel's?

 

My CEL is on..and has stayed on.

It takes about 5 minutes of driving around the block then it drives like new. The first five minutes it shakes and acts like it wants to quit and can't go faster than 20mph..then it is like it catches on and goes up in MPH and drives normal.

 

try replacing the 1st ignition coil Its actually a very very easy job to do and just some nuts and bolts you loosen and a replace and your done...... use the search feature to find topics that will tell you how to......

theres 2 coils by the way
the first one controls the 1st and 2nd cylinders
the second one controls the 3rd and 4th cylinder which you got replaced

I bet your car shakes a little when at stop lights except when its in nuetral
