2002 s40seatbelt light issues
You'd need a full featured scanner that can read the OBD2 "chassis" codes (most just do powertrain) - see if Autozone etc can loan one to you or have an indy shop do a fast scan.
I am not sure if the seat belt light is part of the SRS system computer - I'd probably start by looking under the seat to see if a connector has been kicked out or damaged. You can also check the connection to the seat belt connector to see if you can jumper the cable - check youtube for any vids etc.
