2005 s40 Key/immobilizer question
The only key I had for my car had gotten destroyed essentially so apparently when I was out of town my dad had "some mobile key guy" Come out and program a key for my car. He won't give me all of the details. he Said the guy took out something from under my glove box and did something to it in his van and I now have a key, that kind of starts my car. I have to have the key to the on position but I have to touch the positive battery terminal with a wire coming out of my under the hood fuse box in order to start it..... What the hell did they do to my car?
I also now have a engine system service required message I'm not sure if it's related but it wasn't there before....
Also I had taken it to the dealership a couple of times and they wouldn't program a key, or couldn't program a key, because they said that my ignition switch was jammed or something. Then another one said that they couldn't even communicate with the ignition switch even though it worked fine when my key had gotten destroyed
