This may seem like a routine question, and if it is, I apologize in advance.

How does one get the trunk open on a 2002 Volvo s40? it shoud be easy, but it has always been difficult, but just how does one do this?

I only want to use the standard ignition key.

The car has not run since November.

Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.

Sounds like it needs a good spray down with lube, including inside the lock.
