Hi, can anyone help me figure out where this wire cable connects, it's a green and purple wire on a connector. A genius of a mechanic didn't connect it and I can't seem to trace where it goes.

 

What else was taken off?? I see an empty tube atop the exhaust manifold (preheater?) so I'm thinking it plugs into something like the intake air box - possibly for a temp sensor. Does the car run as is or are you trying to complete a failed repair?

 

No that tube you see there, has always been like that, not sure what it's for but the wires definitely don't plug on that, the car is running fine after repairs. The engine was redone, changed bearings, valves etc
