2005 s40 2.4i oil eater
My wife bought a new 2005 S40 2.4i in December of 2004. This has got to be the worst car we ever owned. No end of problems. One of them being it was going through 3 quarts of oil per 7500 mile change. Volvo at their expense rebuilt the top side of the motor at 40,000. The service manager at our dealer said it had the wrong oil rings in it. Funny thing shortly after that they rebuilt three more S40's. It currently has 120,000 miles on it and it is back to it's old trick of consuming oil like it did. I wrote Volvo at one point and told them all the issues we had experienced and they said they were sorry. We'll send you a 30 percent off coupon for your next service or maintanence issue. This is after replacing two power steering pumps, two fuel pumps, ignition swith, trunk release, alternator and the list goes on. We bought this car expecting to drive it 250,000 like all the other Volvo's we had heard about. I guess Volvo doesn't back it's lemons. Anyway is anyone else having issues with their 2.4i's eating oil. It is not leaking it just consuming it. Thanks
