i'm considering buying the new S40 in about a month or two, but, unfortunately, i do not know much about volvos. could anyone tell me how reliable the new S40s are, and how they are overall? anyone have problems with it? please let me know. thanks!

 

Very nice cars! We have a '05 S40 around here that has almost 40K on it, and has only come in for services! They are really too new to give a reliable awnser. S40 is the only Volvo Id own!

 

The S40 T5 is our fourth Volvo. All have been reliable. This one is the most fun. Good combination of comfort, handling, and performance. Great audio package. There have been a number of problems reported on various boards (check Swedespeed). A lot of the problems could be attributed to a new model. Most problems have been resolved. I had a few issues that were taken care of. When you check boards for other makes, you see that all cars have problems and you have to realize that people that experience the problems are the most likely to post. Do your research. Talk to owners. Go for a test drive. Read unbiased reports. Have fun.
