I'm looking at getting a 2005 Navigation. I want to put in a high end double din aftermarket stereo. I read tonight though that the stereo controls more than the stereo. Some article said that the stereo controls the ac or some hvac controls as well. Is this true? Are there caveats to adding an aftermarket stereo? I want to add a X920BT to the car. Thanks.

Anyway, with the 2005 S40s - the audio doesn't use a DIN type application. The 2005 has their own proprietary optical system designed into the car. You won't be able to do any after market navigation system except for the Garmin Volvo solution.
