Hello all, I am new to the Volvo world and am in the market for a new vehicle. I am in Germany and looking but my options are limited. I found a 2005 S40 T5, can anyone tell me about this vehicle and the pros and cons? It looks nice and I will be driving it soon I just want to get an idea of what I'm looking at before make up my mind. Also are there sub-model for the S40 T5? I looked up stats on it and it said it was a 2.5L Turbo inline-5, is that right or are there other S40 T5 models? I need some input from Volvo owners! Let me know!
Thank you

The T5 is a 2.5L turbo inline 5 cylinder engine. I am not familiar with all the engine options offered in Germany but the T5 would be the top model. Here in the US, we had 2 engine choices, the T5 and the normally aspirated 2.4i, which is a non-turbo inline 5 cylinder engine. The 2.4i provides adequate acceleration but I find my V50 T5 very enjoyable to drive even with the gear-tronic auto transmission.

IICC, all over Europe you can get any of the various engines Volvo made for the P1 S40's.
1.6 L I4
1.6 L turbocharged diesel I4
2.0 L I4
2.0 L E-85/Petrol I4
2.4 L I5
2.4 L D5 turbocharged diesel I5
2.5 L T5 turbocharged I5
The T5 and it's Diesel version the D5 are the top of the line power wise, but you can get just about any option throughout the trim line.

Thanks guys, yeah the gentleman I am looking to buy it from states its a S40 T5 and in the pictures it says T5 as well, so unless he badged it himself it should be the turbocharged Inline 5 2.5L which is what I want. I will be looking at it this week and hopefully taking it home before the weekend!
