All,

We'll be importing my wife's '05 S40 from Canada - and Customs requires that it have an emergency interior trunk release (the Canadian versions don't). I've confirmed with a dealer that the parts required are:

30753120 - Emergency Trunk Release LOCK
30634763 - Handle, inner - Emergency Trunk Release

Have any of you done this retrofit, or even replaced the trunk lock? If so, is it straightforward?

If you have a used version you want to sell, let me know. Or, if you have a recommended OEM webstore for these parts, I'm all ears.

I couldn't imagine that replacing the lock would be all that hard. I'll look up the instructions if I get a chance tonight.

I would assume that they are the same. I did a part number search and that's what came back.

You could always call them to confirm just to be on the safe side.

 

I need to do the same retrofit. Can anyone confirm that the trunk lid lock with emergency handle will fit in a Canadian S40? It's for a 2006.
