I have a 2006 S40 and I am having 2 problems:

1). Sometimes the windows and mirror controls on the doors (especially driver door) don't work - sometimes they do
2). The Air-Conditioner stops cooling - if I turn it off for a few minutes, it will begin cooling again; but we never know for how long

Anyone had similar issues or have any advice?

 

The car is still under warranty. Have you taken it to the dealer?

 

It actually has over 50k miles on it so the warranty is out.

 

they have problems with door connectors with pin tension.. remove connector and try to make pin tighter with a small pick on the female side of the connector. Put some die electric grease in it and see if it would help.. if not u will need to replace wiring harness.on dorr and inside a pillar

 

I had the same problem with my windows...mine was still under warranty...I brought it in and they had to replace all of the wiring harnesses in the doors so that the windows would work. They also had to change the radio amplifier as it was not picking up the AM radio frequency.
