I want to be able to play my phone out of my car and have subs. They do not make a kit for it so does anybody else have any ideas? Thanks

I would like to get a new deck, get subs, and mainly be able to play music off of my phone by using an aux port.

But if I can not get a new head unit then I would like subs and some way to play my iPhone in my car as in aux or USB port or something. Thank you

Pioneer makes a kit that most likely will work, I used it on my 2001 and if your car has the same dash (I do not know what your dash is like) this will work. here is a Ebay link to the kit:

Pioneer Double DIN CAR Stereo Installation KIT ADT VA133 | eBay

also you will need the wiring harness for your factory radio:

Amazon.com: Metra 70-9221 Radio Wiring Harness for Volvo 99-06: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Metra 70-9221 Radio Wiring Harness for Volvo 99-06: Car Electronics

buy a radio (I suggest Pioneer but I am biased) put this in google and search to find different units that you may like:

pioneer double din head unit

Now for Subs that is a loaded question, how much money do you want to spend? I can advise on an amp and subs but I need to know what you are looking for.
Do you want a box in the trunk or not?
How experienced are you with wiring up an amp?
What type of music do you listen to? (alot of boom bass, or tight bass)
Let me know and I can recommend something if you want.

I do not want to spend more than probably $300-$400 I don't know. I know how to wire an amp and everything like that. I listen to a lot of bass music. I have 2 power bass 12" subs but not sure if I should just put a 15" with a big box in my trunk. Does not matter if I have anything in trunk I'm ok with that. I went to the stereo store and they do not make anything for 06 volvos yet, not a kit or harness

I've had this same question. Also I just bought a new ICM for my 2005 S40 t5. And I've been having a issue. That whenever I hit the power power for the audio system... the start up six disc cd player screen pops up for a few seconds and then turns off... So now I cant play cd's or listen to the radio... Has anyone had this problem before? I thought it was my ICM so I bought a new one and replaced it.

Stereo stores do not always know what is available. I was an installer for 14 years so I was able to do it with no problem. What does your dash look like? I googled it but there are a few styles, let me see a pic and I will find out what can be done.

Yes. What you don't see is the space behind the waterfall from about the screen down to the gear shift level. Also, the display is integrated into the cars systems including climate control. Unfortunately it's more than removing it and fitting a replacement into the available space.

Default Sony Digital Link Sound System

Sony XDP-MU110 Digital Link Sound System Factory system upgrade module with cradle for iPhone® or iPod touch® at Crutchfield.com

Anyone know if that would be compatible with a Volvo s40? I've been trying to find a way to hook up my ipod to my stereo like tamen and this seemed like it might work. From what i understand, it's a dsp with a ipod dock built in so wouldn't this work?

Default S40 55 1.8 petrol

Hi all

so today after searching I found a breaker in bham who had a s40 1.6 2007
the car had a head unit that had a aux port.

I now installed the cd unit and the screen but for some reason the mode botton don't switch to aux any reason why that might be ?

You probably need a software load for the headunit, CD and ICM to communicate properly. You may need to replace the ICM with one compatible with the aux unit.
