Air Mass Flow Sensor

Air Mass Flow Sensor
My 2000 Volvo S40 will not stay idling. It will start, but once the RPM's drop down to 1000 or so, it shuts off. From the forum, I've found very helpful information which points to the Air Mass Sensor. Before I make that purchase ($260) I wanted to make sure my guess is correct. I also had a diag run which pulled up codes, PO104, PO102, PO107, PO015,P0303, P0420. From what I've found out PO107 indicates MAP, though I admit I'm not sure if that's the same as Mass Air Flow Sensor and if I replace it if it will correct my problem.
Thanks for any suggestions.

RE: Air Mass Flow Sensor
Prior to purchasing a new MAF, buy a can of CRC MAF cleaner. Since you have never cleaned the MAF in 8 years (I am assuming) you may well find that your problem is solved. At any rate when the product is used you will find that not only will your fuel mileage improve dramatically but the idle smooths out and acceleration is quite noticeable.
r.
CRC is not a cleaner such as brake or carb spray but a product that is quite new on the market (less than one year) and is 'easy' on the plastic 'parts'.

RE: Air Mass Flow Sensor
I too have the same problem with my 2001 s40. My repair shop has replaced the MAF, however, it will still not stay at idle when I start it in the morning. I actually have to gas it to get it started, and will die when the rpms are around 1000 or less. After a few minutes of running, it is fine until the vehicle sits for awhile, then the process starts over.
Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Air Mass Flow Sensor
One more note, when I disconnect the MAF and leave it disconnected and start the engine, it runs about the same. No noticeable difference. It will cutoff when the RPM's drop below 1000. It won't stay idling. Is there a way to adjust the idle? Just guessing at this point.
Thanks for any help.
