airbag sensors
Where are the airbag sensors on the 2002 Volvo s40 in the front? How many and where are they?
I may need to replace one. My airbag was triggered on the passenger side in front. So I am guessing it is on the front right side. How many and where are they?
Thanks in advance.

Okay. I have read that if the side airbag sensors are being flagged, it could mean only that the SIPS (side impact protection system) wires are loose. Are they under the driver's seat? Is this possible?

AFIK, if you are restoring a Volvo from an airbag deployed situation, you will need to do two things: identify and replace all one-time use parts that were deployed, and THEN reset the semi-permanent SRS fault flags. There may be some one-time use parts that report as deployed, even though you haven't realized it.
Only the DiCE-VIDA system can do both of these things (well, the "identify" part of step one anyway). The good news, unless you don't mind spending money, is that grey-market DiCE units can do this work for ~$120 these days.

Okay, but please understand that the accident that caused the airbag deployment was on the front not the side of my 2002 s40. The airbag sensor 161, 162 and 160- are side airbag sensors - not front.
Thanks in advance.
