I've got a 2004.5 Volvo s40 2.4i, the alternator went out so I bought a used one from a 2009 s40 t5
My question is that my bad alternator has the battery wire and a 3 wire plug and the used 2009 alternator has the battery wire and a 2 wire plug, how do I solve this?

 

I ended up figuring it out on my own there was just 1 wire for the regulator, the other plugs were unused.
