Default Anti skid Service Required & Transmission Service Required

Hello Everybody

Can you awesome Volvo enthusiasts help a guy out here. I have a 2005 Volvo s40 T5 Auto and I looooove that car so much that I've refused letting of it and don't plan on letting go ever. There's a few issues with though that drives me nuts, the current errors I get on the dash (Anti skid Service Required & Transmission Service Required).
The car lost power a couple of days ago and I can't tell what's going on. There was an SRS Service airbag armor that was caused by 2 plugs I disconnected while cleaning the floors and forgot to put back but eventually did. The diagnostic machine says a couple of things but most of those error were cleared and didn't seem to come back to bother again I have attached most of them.

Now the car was driving with very little power of course and then boom some bang occured somewhere underneath, I could feel it on my toes as I was driving. Then after that more power lost the car can barely take off and these two errors have appeared (Anti skid Service Required & Transmission Service Required). I have looked on YouTube but found nothing and the forums don't seem to report my exact scenario. Can you lovely enthusiast advise me? Almost forgot... it now has another error (Engine System Service Required).

Same problem here but with a twist! I was driving on a curvy, twisted, narrow, mountain road and naturally I get excited! So I was pressing the car's and my limits alike. On a sharp turn, the engine kicked, the "anti-skid service" message came up and after that, the car won't go more than 2100 rpm with the engine misfiring. I didn't connect it to the car's behaviour at the beginning as the symptoms were similar to fuel injectors and fuel filter issues.
Further research however pointed to steering angle sensor fault as the cause of the "anti-skid service required". Now the first step to resolve this according to the source is a "software update", and if after that the fault is still on, the replacement of the sensor is necessary.
What I don't quite get is the "software update" and how might that work?

I was planning to order and replace the sensor myself since the whole process is pretty straightforward but since after that, "engine system service required" came up as well, I am afraid I can't avoid the "updates".
I hope that help to a direction and please let us know any updates.

No software update will fix a mechanical "bang" while you were driving. Best bet is to get that car up on a lift and start inspecting. When you have things like transmission service required or engine system service required on the dash, you car gets put into limp mode to prevent further damage to the car. This means your car starts in 3rd gear and will require more gas to get moving.

Software updates in general don't really fix issues (unless you have a 2022-2023 with software issues)

@S40DRIVe the steering angle sensor is a common replacement in the older volvos. FCP has videos on how to do it too. Not sure what year your car is. Although anti-skid service light shouldn't trigger limp mode.

An OBD2 read says the 4th fuel injector is the issue. That explains the limp mode I suppose..The coincidental anti-skid light was confusing and now it becomes a secondary issue. BTW, the "DSTC SPIN CONTROL OFF" won't change to on with the reset button. Any thoughts? And the main question is, do I try to first clean the 4th injector and if nothing happens to replace it myself or to the dealer and replace them all? DIY replacing the fuel filter is one thing, but the injectors seem to be challenging at least task

The DSTC is related to your anti-skid, that's why it wont turn on. If you have an issue with one injector, just replace that one if it is faulty. No need to replace them all.

since your car has presented a happy-meal of fault codes, you can do a few things to help elimininate some of the noise - 1) write down then clear the codes. If something is truly broken, the code will reset. 2) check system voltage. low voltage events can set off false positives 3) find a wiring diagram (or get a VIDA CD) and start looking for common points (fuses/relays) on the various modules/devices reporting bad behavior. Check said fuses/relays and ground points.
