so today my s40 with a t5 started making an odd noise... almost like a belt squeel but quieter and goes away at about 1500rpm... or so it sounds... any thoughts?????????????????[sm=helpout.gif]the car has 30k miles and has neve had problems!!!!!

 

One quick cheap method to zero in on a noise is to get a smaller diameter rubber hose and place one end by your ear while moving the other around your engine compartment. (Or buy a mechanics stethoscope) Check your power steering fluid level too, might just be low casing the pump to make noise. Or could be something simple like a leaf or stick rubbing the belt. Stranger things have happened....
