Boot lid lock stuck on 1999 volvo s40
Hi,
The bootlid of my volvo s40 is locked and cannot be opened even with the key. Apparently it locked itself when my younger brother tried to open it with the key, and at the same time, my father tried opening it with the central locking inside.
Could anyone help out?

You will have to fold the rear seats down from inside. Then using a flashlight remove the carpeted panel for the bootlid. Then you will be able to access the latch to open the bootlid. Most of the problems with them not opening is the button that you push it. The peice in side the button breaks.
Tech-when did Volvo start putting the yellow T-handle release inside the trunk of S40's?My 2002 has one. I can pull down the seats crawl in the trunk and release by pulling on the T-handle. BJ
You may be trying to open it with the valet key (which won't work) instead of the master key. If you have any other keys, try them on the boot lock- it worked for me and I hope it does for you- cheers.
