I have a 2001 V40. Does anyone know what the wear limit thickness is on brake pads - front & rear?

Some brake pads have a line cut down the middle of the pad. When the line is gone it is time to change the pad. Some have little metal tabs that show when it is time for a change.
Are you just wondering or do you think it is time for a pad change ? How many miles are on the pads ? In most cases the front pads will need to be changed before the back. Also.... bleed the system a little while you are at each wheel. DO NOT BACK BLEED THE BRAKES........

I was just getting ready to swap winter wheels & tires for summer. While I had the wheels off, I wanted to inspect the brake pads & replace if necessary. I am the 2nd owner of the car. I don't know if the pads are original. The car has 60k miles on it.

 

it is really had to say without seeing the pads. If you are sure take it to a shop and have them look at them.
