buying 2000 S40T opinions needed
Im looking at a 2000 S40T with 134k miles, for the wife, im hopeing i can get some honest opinons on the car as far as reliability.
I can do alot of repairs myself, except for major engine or trans. overhauls. I had a 850 turbo and put the timing belt in it myself, tune-ups, etc.
I know nothing about the S40 though, ive read mixed reviews so i figure id ask the experts.
How hard is it to change the T-belt on this car ? Whats the known issues ? any known trans problems ? etc...
thanks for any help with this...
im also looking at a 98 S70 Turbo with 190k miles but well taken care of, which one would u guys recommend ???

This is why I wrote this thread:

Those are most of the common problems and solutions in the first section. Honestly, 134k is a lot of miles on any car. I would look for lower miles. Good luck!

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I was having account issues. My 2000 S40 is probably THE best car I have ever owned. Repairs are pricey (it IS a Volvo), but it is fast, reliable, and luxurious.
If I was you, I'd go with the 2000. Newer and less miles. Let us know what you decided upon.
