2007 Volvo s40

What things should I look for specificly?

Any tips or opinions will be greatly helped.

This is the standard model .no turbo and automatic.

Make sure the CD changer works properly. You cannot buy an aftermarket radio for it so the one it has needs to work. I think this was the first year for an aux input. Check for it though.

You probably have two or three years before it needs a timing belt, depending on how many miles you drive a year. Might as well ask if it's been changed early.

When you drive it make sure to give it full throttle at least once. Issues such as needing a tune up or broken motor mounts will show up then.

Run a carfax to see if it's been wrecked previously.

And make sure it has 2 keys. For some reason the 2nd key for these cars tend to disappear. A replacement is pricey.

Hudini about covered it.

MyCARFAX.com will do a free check for "authorized service." Look for cracked coolant reservoir & cracked engine mounts (3 places).

Also look for damp carpets. The sunroof drains can clog or get disloged. If it is a long-standing condition, corrosion can be a problem.

Hmmm... 2007 - Battery?
