A/C not cool at low speed

Hello Parmbrust,
The refrigerant may be low, or it may just be the system design. In the owner's manual for the 850 I remember it stated that the A/C may not be effective until vehicle reaches 20mph or something like that. Check to see if you can find something like that in your owner's manual. If S40 has a sight glass (there's none in the 850), you can visually check the amount of refrigerant but like the 850, it may not have one.
If not, wait till other S40 drivers or experts reply to you. In the meantime, you could "rev" the engine in "N" if it gets too hot inside.
