Default can a snow brush scratch a window/glass?

Had some thick frost last night; needed to scrape it off. I used the brush end rather than the plastic end. On my driver side rear window, there is a scratch in the glass. At the deepest point I can feel it when running my finger nail over it. I can't say for certain when the scratch occurred, but I think it would be something I would notice fairly soon given the length. I did apply a good amount of pressure to get the ice off. Not sure exactly what material the brush is, but it's just a standard snow brush.

I have read Minis are notorius for having easy to scratch windows, just wondering if that's the case with S40's.

Any tips on how to remove or lessen the appearance of the scratch?

Negative.
Probably shouldn't.
Now if you have, say, a rock or something stuck in the brush, THEN you may have a problem.

Shouldn't, but the dirt and crap in the snow might OR if there's stuff imbedded in the brush.

There are ways to have that buffed out or filled in by Glass replacement companies.

Thanks for the replies; I will check out the products. I don't believe any stones were lodged in the brush hairs. We have a ton of sand in parking lot from all the snow this year, and when it's windy, it can blow on the car and windshield, but not likely to stick on the side windows. I think at worst, some sand might have been caught between, but I don't know if that would be enough to cause a clear scratch.

I would def. call a Glass company and the should be able to "fill in" those... and I don't think it should be that much...

I've got the same thing. I think the lady who owned the car before me did a lot of highway driving because the front bumper and hood are good and scratched as well.

Well, then you are like me, where there's sand everywhere.
Let me guess that the scratch in your window is vertical?

Sand finds it's way in between the window, and the door/window moulding..So every time you have the window go up, and down, there's a piece of sand (which is harder than glass) scraping the same area every time...It'll get worse until you clean out the moulding.

ALL my cars are doing this....Every drivers side window on all of my cars has vertical stratch marks....

My windshield is the same with the very tiny chips all over it.

The glass Volvo used is crap and softer than their tin-foil alloy wheels.
