Default Canister next to fuel line?

I was hoping someone could tell me what this is. i noticed this black plastic canister behind my back right wheel well. it looked like a really dirty breather filter of sorts but i have no idea what its actually for.

Behind the right wheel well should be the filler neck to the tank, maybe its part of that. Can you identify it on this drawing? Fuel Tank and connecting parts

I believe it would be #25 or close to it. Its zip tied right to the fuel neck right by #19. It says ford motor company on the side.

I'm not exactly sure what 25 is or where it goes, good thing that's about the only part that's not named. It does however look more like the fuel pump that goes inside the tank.

I hope the weather let's me do some work on my car tomorrow, I'll take a look at the filler pipe then. Maybe I got that part too and can identify it.

PS: Since it says Ford on it, you think it's spygear?

Haha i thought ford owned volvo in 2006.

And its definetly not the pump in the tank. It honestly doesnt seem to have much merit. It looks to me like something ford just snuck onto the car so they could say it made it better but it feels really flimsy
