Car Accelerates On Its Own At All Times
Hi,
My 2001 Volvo S40 will accelerate as soon as I turn the engine on. It continues as if someone is straight holding down the gas pedal the whole time. I believe I noticed unintended acceleration before when it was on the road as well. I have read that this could be the throttle position sensor or even the coolant temperature sensor. We did an OBD and got a code for P0722. I'm just curious if anyone has experienced these problems before and might know a DIY solution before I take it to the mechanic.
Thanks,
Aryan

Well actually I just unplugged and then re-plugged in the throttle position sensor plug and the problem has gone away. I would like to add that there was a lot of blue looking crap in the plug connection. I will keep updates on how she drives. I am a little sketched out that the accelerator might just decide to go when I am driving....
