CEM removal from 2002 s40
I have a 2002 Volvo s40 with a faulty Central Electronics Module. Whatever I eventually do - repair or replace, I must remove the CEM from my car. I have a DVD disk which should tell me. It says my
files have expired(?). I cannot use it..
Is there some place online that has the diagrams for removing the CEM from my Volvo. Must I buy a new disk with unexpired files?
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

are you looking to replace the CEM or figure out why your DVD disk isn't working? Try resetting your PC's clock to something like 2000 and see if the program will read again. As to replacing the CEM, its pretty straight forward. First find your radio code and keep it handy. Next disconnect the battery. You will find the CEM as the box with two big electrical connectors under the dash by the hood release. The connectors can be a PITA to separate off so be patience and wiggle/pry but they'll come off. As I recall, I had to work at some odd angles to disconnect and remove the part. The good news is your replacement does not need to paired to the ECU so you can go with used part from a yard etc (got mine for $65)
