Check Engine Light on a 2001 Volvo S40?
Ok so my customers have been having this issue with my customers check engine light in my 2001 Volvo S40. In the summer when it gets warmer out,MB Star Compact C4 it comes on and stays on. In the winter however, when it stays below about 60 degrees, it stays off. My customers took it to get the codes read on it last summer and it says its the one of the turbo sensors. My customers have had all the sensors replaced and it's still doing it. My customers is getting robbed by the dealership because they are the "only ones" that can perform this specific work. They are not finding my problem my customers feel though. Like my customers said this only comes on in warmer weather. Is it a short somewhere? A fuse? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Without codes/symptoms, we are useless. And if the CEL was illuminated, there ARE codes stored there. Volvo, Saab, Land Rover, doesn't matter. An engine is an engine. Blows my mind the idiot "mechanics" over here that wont work on a Rover, Volvo, etc because it's European or "complicated". Hell the Rover's are a pushrod V8 up till 2004.....Yeah complicated.
Why dont you get a code reader and see if you can help your customers customers customer? If I got that right....
TBH though, the whole post makes little sense to the likes of me.
Went to go look and see if reading your other posts would make this one make more sense, I was wrong.
You are a self proclaimed mechanic in one post, but have asked about 3 (I think) different vehicles, one of which had a "Leak on top", the other a CEL by your vague description.
Whats the deal bud?? You aren't a mechanic by any means, and you are asking about 3 different Volvo's?? I dont care what you ask per say, just want your posts in this section to make a little sense....

I agree with Martin. Your customer? So you are a mechanic? But don't have a simple code reader? And your diagnostic process is to post about it here with no codes so we can guess?
And you think it's a fuse? How would that be possible, exactly?

Right!
I dont mind helping anyone, as hopefully everyone can see. That's the true purpose of these forums IMHO, get help and give help.
But this one just sounds fishy to me. A self proclaimed "mechanic", who asks here for tire recommendations for his "customers", as well as how to look up a CEL and so on.
I'd call it for what it is, but the language filter would get the better of me I'm afraid....

In other news I see ES6T is now a "Super Moderator" and is editing other member's posts. Try not to let your new super powers go to your head, ES6T.
I'm editing his posts because he is likely a spammer.
He posts these general "questions" and then later edits the post and adds a link to a website selling a scanner. Just like this guy, with a near identical IP address. Thanks for the tip though.

I'm a moderator on a Range Rover forum, and unfortunately the owners in Canada wont allow a ban on the basis of talking total BS or general stupidity. Thus I have to restrain myself at times....
