Check Engine Light P0130
I have a 2000 S40 and my check engine light keeps going on and off. I got the code pulled when it was ON and found out it was P0130 for Oxygen Sensor Bank 1. I understand there are 2 O2 sensors one is called front and other is rear, atleast thats what i found when i was searching for Oxygen sensors online. Is the code P0130 for the front or the rear O2 sensor? Where would i get it? Would Online be better than dealership? Should I consider universal O2 sensors as they seem to be cheaper? Aay advise is appreciated
thanks
thanks
It is pretty easy to replace.
Look at the exhaust starting at the engine follow back and look for a Nut looking thing with wires coming out that is the front O2 sensor should be about 8 inches to a foot from the engine.

I too have this problem with the p0130 (o2 sensor circut malfunction "bank 1 sensor 1") code. It went off three times in two weeks. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Could the o2 sensor be bad? My plugs aren't that old and my coils are brand new. The car seems to be running fine. Thanks for the help.

i beleive that code comes up ECM 16, there is a bulliten on that DTC, there is a harness and a ECM update download that should cure the problem..
If this has already been done than the front O2 will need to be replaced.. very accessable

Thanks guys. I replaced the front o2 sensor with ease. I am going to estimate my gas milage now and hopefully that darn check engine light stays off. Thanks again...Skatermattc2
