clicking also but only with ac on..
it sucks...
so after a 5 hour drive..... from VA to NC I noticed that my car ticks very fast and can be heard when at idle ...
It only ticks with the AC on ( doesnt matter on what level) ..
I havent tried turning the Receric on... doubt it will change anything......
facing the front of the car the sound comes from the left side under the hood.....
could it be the same prob as the other guy that posted about the clicking noise??? ( his only makes the noise when the receric is on and mine does it with only the AC on???
thanks for any replies

ORIGINAL: tech
HMM strange do you have healight wipers? Guessing Also does your car still have the brake vacuum pump in the wheel well?

i dont think its the wipers since the noise sounds light its coming from the pass. side of the car...
is the brake vac pump located in that area??
getting off topic..
now my car makes a clicking noise when i brake around 50%+ its kinda loud and i can feel it thru my feet also...
FYI i replaced all my rotors and brakes... also my strut mounts and endlinks... also sway bar bushings .... It seemed to happen after i did my rotors and brakes...
i took a look see and everything seems to look good.... it sounds something is hitting something everytime is goes around ( thats just what is sounds like not to sure if thats it )
also is slightly makes the noise when accelerating from id say 0-5 mph
also when i switch gear..... but the noise is very minimal

Engine mounts good?
You did the front strut mounts? If so did you line them properly before tightning the top nut?
Do you also hear the noise over bumps?
How long ago did you do the brakes?
Vacuum pump is under the master cylinder. It is silver.
It is hard to keep up but I try my best.

hey for my ac click noise i suspect that it could be my ac servo ....
for the poping when braking it could be my engine mounts .. i havent checked my torque mounts yet havent gotten under my car yet...
no noise over bumps...
it makes the noise when im at a stop and i repeatedly press and let go of the brakes at a stand still...
i dont know if the springs are aligned cause i didnt do those i dont have a compressor...
a guy at a shop did for like $120... would he have to inspect them for free cause he may have not aligned them properly... if so how do you align them properly..??
thanks a bunch

I agree on the A/C noise. Does it stop when you either use or turn Recirc off?
The noise when you press and release at a stop is it like a humming noise or the click?
For the struts there is a hole in the top plate that sits on the spring. There is a big hole. On the bottom where the spring sits there is also another hole. The 2 holes need to be lined up. I always use a 1/4 long extension and make sure they are lined up. It can make noises from being off.

RE: clicking also but only with ac on..
ill check the ac noise when going to work....
when braking 50%+ theres a poping/Clicking noise....
theclicks correlate with the speed im braking from ....
can i check the alignment by just taking my wheel off or do i have to take wheel, endlink, and etc off to look....
ooo also another thing lol not a biggy i dont think...
ok key is in position 2 then if i turn it to position 0 there a weird kkrrggghhh kinda noise some where under my hood... dont know where its from cause i dont have a personal side kick in my pocket..

RE: clicking also but only with ac on..
i checked my suspension...
just took the wheel off and looked at the holes...
i saw 1 hole at the bottom of the spring where it sits ( around 1/4" like you said )...
but i didnt see one at the top..
is the hole on the top supposed to be the bolt for the Strut mount on the side... ??
if so there not lined up..
how would you line these up anyway.. arnt the springs kinda guided into place???

RE: clicking also but only with ac on..
There is a hole the same size that is supposed to be lined up. No not the bolt hole that the strut goes through.
I worked on one at work today but didn't have digi cam at work to take a pic.
You would have to compress the spring out of the car to fix it.
Was trying to find a pic online but cannot.
Look up top with a flashlight good it may be on the back side. That will offset it alot if is isn't set right.
