Default Cylinder order?

Hello, all. I have a 2008 S40 2.4i. I ordered and just received a set of coil packs to try and remedy a cylinder misfire issue on #3. Since the car has 180k miles on it I thought it made sense to go ahead and replace all coil packs and spark plugs. My question is, how do we tell what the cylinder locations are on these 5 cyinder engines? As I said I'm replacing all, and if they go in order, 3 would be the same whether the count starts fore or aft, but I was just curious. Thanks.

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, it is 1-5 left to right.

Thanks for your response. Simple enough, and basically what I had in mind. Now, when I go in, I can pay special attention to the #3, and see whether there were any visible issues.

Thanks again.

Ok, so I replaced all spark plugs and coil packs. Interestingly, the car is now starting and running a little rough and the check engine light is on. Drives fine once at speed. At first there was a strong 'rich' exhaust smell, but that ended up going away after I drove it for awhile. My thinking is that, since the car was operating for so long with worn spark plugs and packs, maybe the engine management system needs time to adjust to the new stuff, and it'll all smooth out after awhile? Any opinions?

I went back in and checked all plugs and coil packs to make sure everything's in correctly. I noticed, on cylinder #4, this plug going to the coil pack seems to be missing a connector in the 3rd slot. Upon further inspection it looks like it is in there, just pushed back somehow. Does anyone know if these plugs can be purchased separately, without having to buy the entire wiring harness?

Also, I noticed when I disconnect this valve on top of the engine intake, there's no difference in how the engine runs (in other words, it' continues its slight shaking and running rough, but doesn't get any worse):

Thanks for any input.
