ECM 4D and P0303
Hi:
Where can I get the diagnostic trouble codes? What is the difference between an OBD aftermarket scanner and an specific Volvo diagnostic? For example, does the VIDA system will be able to detect more errors or more specific information than an aftermarket OBD?
I have a Volvo S40 that had the error P0303 and one of the mechanic changed sensors, spark plugs, ignition coil and clean the throttle body. After picking up the car the P0303 error came almost immediatelely. After a lot of troubles, I changed mechanic and they replaced the pressure regulator which solve the P0303 problem and a starting problem I was having. The first mechanic claim he solved the P0303 problem and the problem of the P0303 was caused by a the fuel pump. He showed me the diagnostic trouble codes. The DTC are the following:
ECM 4D: Is this the same as P0303?
ECM 44: What is this code?
After the second mechanic changed the pressure regulator the car is running great and no errors. Does the first mechanic failed to diagnose the problem or there were two problems? The spark plugs and ignition coils had about 24 k miles before he decided to replace it. Any opinions or comments?
Thanks,
RJS
