Anyone successfully install double DIN stereo in S40?
I want to replace the stock radio in my 2003 S40 with a double DIN stereo, so that I can have a backup camera without a separate monitor screen. Crutchfield website says no 2-DIN receiver they sell will fit, and I can’t find any that fits on BestBuy either. Autozone website says Blaupunkt BP800 will fit, but don’t offer any other info.
I asked a couple of car stereo shops about installing a double-DIN stereo into my 2003 S40 and they kind of hemmed and hawed and said it's probably possible and but it'll be a custom job and might cost extra. Then I went by a Best Buy and they said oh yeah no problem. So I had them do it and it turned out fine. I had them put in a Sony XAV-AX1000.
