Default Flickering low beam light

Daughter just bought a 2008 S40 T5 awd.

Lights continue to flicker followed by warning light that says low beam bulb failure.

Consistent repeating failure warning and flicker. Even Police stopped her last week for it.

Any ideas on cause?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Faulty relay in CEM?

Topic of the month apparently. A quick review of the 15 most recent posts should put you on the right track.

My guess would be a loose ground wire somewhere.

Not a clue. I have received dozens of suggestions. It appears it is amfairly common problem. Best guess from what I have read is it is a board level capacitor issue where the Daytime lights draws too much power and creates the flicker due to not having enough power.
