My volvo is doing to funk
My volvo v40 had some major repairs (radiator, turbo ext.) done to it befor i drove up to my home in alaska from Montana. During last fall i was diving it to and it started to die out on me. It would idle fine, when i gave it a little gas it would die, but when i gassed it to say 3500 rpms it would stay running but when i let off the gas it would die.. So I havent messed with it all winter. And the snow has melted enough to get it out.
So my question is, I have had many people tell me its a sign of a bad catylic converter. But are there other possibilities? I need to get my v40 running because my ridiculous 94 suburban is the most unreasonable vehicle for me and the cost of driving it all winter, is the equivalent of burning your savings account.
Im also new to this Forum, so i might be a retard

Hey I would love one of those egg crate grills. I am getting sick of taping and re painting mine black every six months or so. Anyway good post. BTW I got my 2002 s40 some new wheels had them on for a year now and I went with stock sized. Black car with black wheel with polished rim, looks nice! My friend was giving me crap about them being stock size, he went with 18's. Six months later he had the original rims back on, it turns out the larger wheels added more problems, like hairline cracks from a curb I am guessing (he would not say), and balance issues. I asked him if he had the rings put on. He said what rings? I told him that is why he had so many problems. He is very angry right now.

Broken Links
hi just to let you know some of the links I've tried to the "s40concepts.net" Forum website are broken and don't lead anywhere. So some of the useful information for newbies like myself can't be found here now. Hopefuly there is enough on the threads on this forum to get us what we need !

Link to clean MAF is not working
There are two places under this FAQ ( 1- idle ...., 2 - Fan stays on...) with a link to clean the MAF: ie. "While you're at it, you can clean the mass airflow sensor (MAF.) There is a how to here: http://s40concepts.net/forum/index.p...b1bce0b4860f8f "
Neither link seems to be working. Can you please send me the new link or give me pilot error clarification? and/or fix the link?
Best Regards,

Does link to Clean MAF exsist
> mt6127 S40concepts was decommed, new forum is Forums - Volvo V70R
kk, ?? FYI - When I found those dead links I was in the S40 Forum looking for hints on a 2004 S40 1.9T that is having a "won't idle" problem.
1) so does the link and instructions not exist anymore ?
or 2) am I to go to this new forum and search for it?
Should I still be going to the V70R forum looking for how to clean a MAF on an S40?

I bought a 2001 S40, after a while the CEL turned on.
The car does not go over 3000 RPM, when I want to speed up, it does not accelerate quickly. Even more, it is no runing above 120 km/hour, ( it is 75 mph).
Scanning the ECU, there is no any special code.
Being at idle there is no smooth runing.
Apparently the Mass Air Flow is working properly
I appreciate any help you can give me
best regards

excellent information... Do you have any info on an '01 s40 that keeps giving me a misfire code? sometimes it's cyl 3, 1, 1/3, 2/4, 1/3/4... i have replaced the coils, spark plugs, coil wires...
Worst part is the vehicle was purchased in April '17 and the repair issues have been adding from the anti sway connector bars, anti-sway clamps overheating at random times but no leaks found...
i'm starting to think i was sold a lemon
