replacing the engine mounts and my new parts match up with the parts that I'm replacing. Concerned with the lower front engine mount though. When I'm installing the new part I noticed that the through hole on the engine mount is way bigger than the bolt that passes through it. Is there suppose to be a bushing that fits in there or is it suppose to be like that. I didn't have a bushing in the one I took apart but sure seems odd.
Attaching a couple of pictures of how much larger hole in mount is compared to bolt.
For about $3 you can also replace the bolt using the part number from the diagram hoonk provided. FCP / IPD or a dealer store like Tascaparts should be able to take care of that.
A 10mm bolt is specified - (M10x1.25x75.) - is that a 10mm bolt in your picture? Are the holes in the bracket the same size as the hole in the mount? Or is that a 8mm bolt and is loose in both the bracket and the mount?
The holes in the bracket are just big enough for the bolt to slip through so it is right bolt. Just the hole in mount is way oversized. Thought there might be an additional bushing that fits in the engine mount hole but I didn't have one when I removed it and don't see it in the parts diagram. I replaced all the engine mounts and it made a big difference, not jerking when I shift into drive and idle is really smooth now so won't worry about it, guess it is by design.
