Removing the fuse and cranking the engine will cause the fuel pressure to drop to zero so you don't get squirted in the face with fuel when you remove the fuel lines from the fuel filter. I would still wear safety glasses of some sort.
I still think you have a bad fuel pressure regulator.

just emailed a mechanic garage and told the situation
(have a 2002 Volvo s40 202,000 kms...
recently when starting car first thing in the morning,,cranks longer than usual to start...but after start and try to start car up it fires up..so usally when the car has been sitting the starting issue appears...I have changed sparklugs last week,,2 years ago changed coils,,last week got injectors cleaned with airblown machine...im thinking fuel pressure regulator)
they emailed back
Hello,
I seriously doubt it’s the fuel pressure regulator as that only comes into play once the engine is started

One tip I would give you is to have a trim removal tool to pull out the plastic retaining clips that hold the cover to the fuel filter. Also when you reattach the hoses to the filter, make sure you hear a click and pull each hose, one at a time, after the click to make sure the connection is in place. Kind of sucks to go down the interstate and your hoses come loose.
That is incorrect. The problem is that the FPR is letting the fuel pressure bleed down to nothing when you shut the engine off. And all of the fuel that is blead off gets sucked into the intake through a vacuum hose. So low pressure plus a bit of engine flooding makes the engine had to start.
The only symptom of a bad FPR is hard starting. Once started your car will run fine. Trust me, I had the hard starting (along with many, many other Volvo owners) and the FPR was the culprit.
