I have a Volvo S40 1.8 2002, 49,000 miles, I went to start the car the other day it made a very loud crunching noise and now the gears seem hard to engage and the engine management light came on the next day.

Please Help

 

This is primarily a US forum, we didn't have the manual as an option.
