Help - Front suspension clucking sound
Good evening to anyone reading this post,
I love my car and have not had any major issues with it, until now.
I own a 2004.5 S40 T-5 with 88K miles. The car has a clucking sound from the passenger side, which presents itself when when I accelerate or turn to the right while accelerating. The sound is more prominent when the car is cold, or when I drive over a bump in the road.
I have already replaced the front struts and mounts, as well as the passenger side axle, and the sway bar has been inspected and is in excellent shape.
I dont know what else to look for, and I am afraid to continue driving it because the sound is getting louder. If anyone has had this problem or may know what the problem is I would really appreciate your help!
Thank you in advanced,
Chris

clucking sound
Hi there...just want to give you an opinion on this issue.Hopefully it's not what i think it is.I'll give you a list of what i replaced because of the clunk & vibrations.
tires,rotors,struts,cv-axles,ball joints,inner/outer tie rods, bushings, motor mounts and the clunk never went away ..hitting 50/60 on the freeway and the steering wheel bounced like crazy..so ,to make the story short after all that $$$$$$ and frustration..it was the f***ing RACK&PINION.
It was my old car..not a Volvo..but for your sake i hope it's not..very expensive and labor involved.Bought rebuild one and it was no good..worse clunk..than it all went away after the 3rd rebuild one which cost around $120 and a friend mechanic did all the work but the dealer asked for $1200 + labor..nightmare !!!
Good luck...hope the info helped..take care !
