How to identify Xenon headlights?
Hi everyone and nice to be around as a new member. Sorry if this is a silly question, but how does one know if the car I purchased (2011 S40 2.0) has xenon headlights or not? The traditional wisdom says "if it has a height adjustment control, those are HID lamps, and if it doesn´t have one, then youhave adaptive xenon headlights". Is it that simple as that, or is there any way of knowing this for sure? I peek on the headlight assembly, and don´t see anything bulgy on those assemblies that would indicate a transformer (or however one calls the big power unit (??) that one usually associates with xenon headlights). All I see is a small cover with a metal clip on, much like traditional HID lights.
As said, sorry if this is a foolish question, but I am just getting to know this car, being my previous Volvo experience a 93 850 GLT years ago. Best regards.
