Default just got a volvo need help

just got an 02 s40,im getting the code p0700, the car has been sitting for a few months and was running fine before then, now when i put it into park or reverse there is a very bad jerk, and when im driving there is a vibration through the car at 30mph and anything higher then that and the shifts are hard? is the transmission shot? what should i check?

What have you done so far? Have you checked the fluid level as outlined in the manual?

ya the fluid level and color is fine, im not to familiar with volvos, is there any sensors to check

Cars do not like to sit for long periods. Seals dry up and fluids drain out of places they need to be. Are you driving the car regularly now?

Also, you might try a fluid additive. These won't fix hard failures but they can free up sticky valves and make seals soft again if it's a problem with sitting too long.

BTW: You never said why the car was sitting for a few months. Is it because of the transmission?

got lucky guys turned out to be the front right axle was shot
