Which year S40? The 2000 model is different than the 2001-2004 which is different than the 2004.5 and up.
Here is a good website with drawings that may help:

Ok, 2001. I've replaced all 4 on my 2001 so it's pretty straight forward.
S40 2001–2004 Engine Mount rear of the firewall 30611465 $39.00
S40 2000–2004 Engine Mount Front 30611143 $34.00
S40 2000–2004 Engine Mount rear rubber vibration absorber 30616932 $15.00 (fits around rear mount, replace if yours is cracked)
S40 2001–2004 Engine Mount uses bracket 30630605 Driver 30611474 $126.00
S40 2001–2004 Engine Mount Lower 30620778 $110.00 (above trans)
This one is the bracket mentioned above. You either have to grind a new slot for the new style upper mount into the old bracket (which I did) or buy this new one:
S40 2001–2004 Engine Mount Bracket Auto Trans All 30630605 $130.95
All of these are pictured at the above website. I do not work for the above website. They just happen to have good pictures. Please shop around for the best prices. I have bought from them before and they are very good but to each his own.
Replacement is very easy compared to a timing belt or water pump. The bottom 2 are located on the metal bar running under the engine compartment. This is the bar with the skid plate sticking through the plastic underneath the engine. You simply unbolt the bolts to the engine and then unbolt the bar after removing the plastic. The mounts then come out still attached to the bar. R&R in reverse.
The trans mount is under the air cleaner. I removed the air cleaner, MAF sensor and associated piping until it was easily accessed. Support the engine with a block of wood and a jack. Very slightly remove tension on the mount. Unbolt and replace with new.
The pax side engine mount is the easiest to replace. It's right there on top. Keep the engine supported as with the trans mount and remove the mount followed by the bracket. The bracket will need to be replaced with the new style or grind a groove to match the new mount. For some odd reason they made the new mount so it only fits a bracket with a groove perpendicular to the original. The bracket is the same shape though. I just cut a new groove to fit. YMMV

That is really a money issue. Personally I hate spending money on parts I do not need. On the other hand, I hate even more the wife telling me something is wrong with her car and when am I going to make it better? The difference would be shipping costs if you order the parts online. Maybe replace the obviously cracked mounts and see if your vibration goes away? (You never stated why you needed new mounts)
