Default Need advice. NEW

Hi everyone.im new to this So tomorrow I'm going to look at an 06 s40 t5. This would be my second s40 purchase if everything goes well. I love my s40 but I'm looking forward to changing it up a bit ( mine is automatic, I'm going to look at a manual.) Id just like to know if there's anything I should look for that could help me deside if the vehicle is worth buying.
Here's the add. Tell me what you think.
2006 volvo s40 t5 awd. 6spd, leather interior, power locks and windows, sunroof, 18" rims, lowered, K&N intake, 3" downpipe, complete exhaust, 120,000 miles. Check engine light is on, needs inspection and may be something wrong with suspension makes a noise on the right front when goes over bumps. Other than that it's a great vehicle, runs good and has some power, and sits clean. unique volvo.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone.

This one?

Run away. It's heavily modified, lowered suspension, it will be nothing but headaches.

Should I not even bother looking at it or do you think it's worth talking him down? I mean I don't mind that it's lowered I was planning on lowering my car if I didnt buy this one. I can tell the rims are shot. And the check engine light is on. I just don't want to not look at it and possibly regret it. Are there any reasons other then the mods that would turn you away? I plan on bringing a scanner with me if I go to look at it.

Sounds like you want to buy this car. I happen to think lowering a car is insane so you probably don't need any more input from me.

I'm interested in it I just hope that it isn't in bad shape. There's some things about it that I find alittle weird. Like it's been repainted but it almost looks spray painted. And it isn't inspected.

Maybe I should have said cream puff. Either way it's sarcasm.

Your car has engine mods, who knows how well done, is lowered, has damaged rims, a check engine light that is obviously too challenging for the current owner to address and on top of all that has a rattle can paint job and apparently can't pass inspection.

What a cream puff.

Based on the available evidence I would not be too hopeful.

Personally, I would never buy a modded vehicle unless I wanted those mods and was 100% certain the modder knew what they were doing.

Very true. I think I may still look at it. I definitely don't want a money pit.

I sense a possibly sad and painful outcome here.

You sound like you've already made up your mind and just want someone to agree with you. If you want it, buy it.

I agree with migbro though.

I don't really care if you agree with me or not. I just asked for advice on the car and figured you guys could help. And your help is really appreciated. I just wanted to know if it was a good buy or not. But obviously it's not.

Of course, one thing MakenzieNicoleS40 didn't mention is price. If it's a givaway, an expected $3000 in repairs might be justifiable. If the selling price is in the $10,000 range, the car isn't worth considering.

The guy is asking 3500 Obo. Which is the cheapest I've seen one go for around here.
