New 2004 S40
I just picked up a 2004 S40 sedan with a little over 77K miles.
I was wondering if this car will last a long time without major engine/drive train problems. Any advice or tips regarding the 2004 S40? Known issues?
I love the car; it's in great shape inside and out and I bought it for my daughter.
Please advise.

With proper maintenance - yes it will. My only advice: if you notice a large oil leak please stop driving immediately. Mine stated leaking from the CVVT gear and in about a week managed to slip the timing belt and bend all the exhaust valves. A new CVVT gear is not too expensive but throw in 8 exhaust valves and you start getting into expensive repairs.
