I am new to this forum, but I have been reading it for a while. It is amazing how much you guys seem to know about Volvo's

I have an issue with the wiper arm on the passenger side of my wife's 2001 S-40. The wiperblade was not making contact with the top of the windshield, so I decided to try and fix it (my first mistake...). I removed the plastic cap covering the nut that holds down the wiper, and I tightened the arm down. This worked for a few days but, the issue returned shortly. I repeated the tightening fix, but this time the bolt broke (apparently I over-tightened). The dealer said I need to replace the wiper transmission to get a new wiper arm bolt. Is this correct? Also, I see used wiper transmissions on e-bay, is it a difficult fix to install a new wiper transmission?
