Hello,

I was having a smooth highway ride in my S40 without any passenger, and all of a sudden the passenger air bag off light came. The message says "PAS AIRBAG OFF: Urgent Service Required."
Can somebody help better understand what's going on?
I am scared to take my car to (Rockville, MD) Volvo dealer because 1) they charge $107 for diagnostic testing which could kill me in this economy, and 2) I have had a bad experience of heavy charges for minor repairs with this dealer.

Airbag system is something best left to the dealer. It sucks but it's true!

About a week after I bought my car the airbag light came on and ended up costing me $950 for a new airbag. hope this doesn't happen to you!
